So I guess the MCU is simply going to last forever?
technically correct... the best kind of correct
Todd looks good for 99
This is tragic. I love my 12 mini.
i had no clue before now that Howard didn't direct oblivion.
Definitely start now! Even if no one watches, you’ll build a skill set that people will eat up when your age and content all click together.
MKBHD started reviewing tech when he was 16 to no audience. Now he’s a juggernaut.
Not to over speculate with concept art, but Tom Cruise landing so far from the city could mean that there’s some sort of dungeon or structure under the city.
Did something happen?
i'm attracted to memes, yet i am still here. mwahahahaha
For sure. Also, I doubt at the final meeting between Zenimax and Microsoft, they were like “alright Pete Hines, global head of marketing. It’s your call”
I think it’s a poorly written lede.
Hines clarified on Twitter that he was sorry people were frustrated, not sorry about exclusivity.
i've played hundreds of hours of skyrim and never once have I gotten this far in the main quest
I love the filmmaking but the script just doesn’t do it for me.
The Matt Damon arch feels hand fisted.
the whole movie leads up to Murph and Cooper reuniting, but when they finally do, she brushes him away to be with her family. I guess that sort of is supposed to be deep, but what then doesn’t make sense to me is that not a single member of Murph’s family has any interest in talking to their grandfather. If my mom’s grandfather appeared from a wormhole, I would want to spend days with him, chatting and learning about my family.
This is a complaint, it’s just the “love is the ultimate power in the universe” didn’t click for me. I don’t think it was the wrong move, but it didn’t work for me.
The movie feels like a mashup of contact and 2001 a space odyssey. I thought the space odyssey stuff was awesome, but the contact stuff felt like a cheap imitation.
I want to like that movie so bad
true. i've mentioned it briefly on this sub before, but I suspect the people who love "The Martian" movie or book -- or "Project Hail Mary." read it if you get the chance, it's awesome -- will also love this game.
i, like many others, got horrible grades in math, biology and physics and was never interested in pursuing a career in science. scientists, however, have always been fascinating. the idea that any problem can be solved with enough creativity, collaboration and optimism is incredibly inspiring.
space agencies have long been considered government at it finest. the one place where people come together and try to make our shared human experience a little better.
it's not "skyrim in space" that makes me want to preorder this game. it's the idealism and hope and creativity.
government can be a place where people come together
i don't really have a take on how "good or bad" exclusivity is for players. what I can speak to is my personal experience.
i was a PlayStation guy since I was a kid. i never got the ps4, but i remember saving money to buy a ps3 and played every game i could get my hands on through the entirety of the ps4 lifecycle. the main reason i decided to upgrade to the ps5 was because one of my favorite games in the world, the last of us, was getting a sequel and i couldn't play it on ps3.
for 2 years i saved money on the side -- I'm a college student -- to buy a ps5. i followed every update and watched every event with my brothers. the last of us 2 came out, and i avoided all spoilers (no i don't care what you think about tlou2) so that i could play it as my first game on the ps5.
then, on September 21 of last year, it was announced that Microsoft was buying zenimax. the first games i every fell in love with, skyrim and oblivion, were going to have sequels on the xbox.
i wasn't sure if bgs would go exclusive with xbox, but honestly, i didn't want to take any chances. this studio was the reason i still play games. as a last minute gut decision, i reallocated my funds, and on December 9 my xbox series x arrived in the mail.
one year after launch, i have no regrets. i love the value of gamepass (especially as someone who missed a generation) and i cannot wait for starfield. nasa punk seems RIGHT up my alley.
I did have to make sacrifices, though. I still have not played the sequel to one of my favorite games of all time, and i am ok with that.
if you feel the urge to reply "see! that's the point! You shouldn't have to make any sacrifices!" you'd be totally right. i should not have to miss out on starfield and es6 to get a PlayStation, and i should not have to give up on the last of us 2 to get an xbox. the whole thing is really unfair.
what is fair, though, and the reason i tell this story. months before the consoles released, there was official news that Microsoft was looking to purchase zenimax which means i had the time to make my choice.
in an imperfect world, the best we can hope for is choice, and we had it. i don't need to shit on god of war to feel validated in my choice, and someone else doesn't need to shit on starfield to feel validated in theirs. games are long as hell, and there are a lot of them. you wouldn't be able to play everything anyway, so you might as well enjoy what you have and be happy for other people who have theirs.
I’m guessing generic 3D model with a gun for box, and then this poster for steelbook at Best Buy
i like the idea, but i don't like the frontier and the interstellar portal not being center.
I would definitely like monthly dev diaries to get insight into the lore and world. The making of Skyrim documentary is one of the first promotional videos I saw before I was old enough to play the game, and I would just have it running on repeat.
Thank you! My pc and iPad already have this as their wallpaper, so happy to add my phone to the party.
I did like the side quests in fallout 4. The cult of traders performing cruel experiments to rid the world of Synths was a cool story, and an early stand out.
All of my favorite fallout elements consist of those bite sized sci-fi adventures strung together like an old TV show.
i would buy and frame that poster
I last minute got a series x over ps5 when I heard about the sale
2/5 of those games are shooters
