the artists profile

The reign of dinosaurs ended roughly 65 million years ago, when an asteroid struck the earth near present day Yucatan, Mexico.

We know this impact happened thanks to the crater, as well as a layer of Iridium (An element rarely found on earth, but often found on meteors) in the soil dating from roughly the time when the asteroid hit.

The asteroid impact would have put millions of tonnes of debris into the atmosphere, blocking out the sun and not allowing plants to grow, putting ecosystems the world over into chaos.

The few animals that survived were often small, like our mammalian ancestors. This extinction paved the way for mammals to become the dominant species in many niches.

The last of the non avian dinosaurs. Still struggling to cling to a survival, a struggle that will not persevere. (By Cafnir)

I can’t edit the title, Reddit doesn’t let you.

But In the future I’ll be sure to add it to the title.
