Best advice I can give is be patient while everyone learns the rules (yourself included). Also never forget the “rule of cool”. If your players want to do something that’s not technically allowed rules as written, but is cool and your players will enjoy it…roll with it. You will find that as a DM there is a time and a place for being a rules lawyer, and there are times when you just need to let your players be badasses.
Second, take the time to find the sweet spot of prep. If you don’t prep enough you’re really going to have to improvise a lot which is both difficult and problematic. Prep too much and you’ll find yourself having readied far more than group can get through in a session. That’s not always a bad thing, but can absolutely lead to burn out if you’re running a weekly game.
Oh I almost forgot, SESSION ZERO! An absolute must in my opinion. It sounds like you’ve already started so maybe you’ve done one already. If not then consider taking a bit of time before a session to set expectations and to hear what your group is looking for in your campaign.
Yeah I definitely agree with this. In my campaign I had a npc that wizard that was essentially meant to die to one of the actual baddies when they found him. I apparently made the wizard seem very suspicious however and my players really jumped into tracking him down….so I shifted gears and a couple sessions later they found the wizard working with the baddies and he turned into a skull lord after failing to become a lich. Definitely a more interesting plot line than I had originally planned.
Haha thank you for the correction!
Sometimes called Love and War in English. It’s fantastic
Very true. But the “public’s” reaction it to it was always blown out of proportion. I put public in quotes because most sane people weren’t worried, I feel like the people that truly freaked out back then are the same ones that believe conspiracy theories today.
Way back in the before-fore times people were terrified that all of the world’s technology and civilizations would collapse because they were afraid computers would be unable to handle the year changing from 1999 to 2000. Somehow computers were able to do everything they could do back then, the internet existed....and yet changing a 1 to a 2 evoked hysteria and panick........‘twas a silly time.
DO THEY EVEN SPAWN ANYMORE I MEAN SHIIIIT
Frankly if anyone at my table ever put it in the effort to attempt an accent, gender flipped or otherwise, I would be ecstatic. It doesn’t matter how absolutely terrible they are I would tell them they are a legend just for putting the work in.
Ah yeah unfortunately I can see that.
Dude that bit with Trump was fucking bonkers. And you really blueballed everyone with that game of thrones storyline.
Abuse by like....marrying whoever they want? Cuz I’m not seeing the problem.
Shit yeah I can’t believe I didn’t recognize it. That booty is a dead giveaway, but like you said without the color it’s tougher.
This is an instance where being a DM has improved my game as a player. Given how I’ve tried to set moods and scenes in my own game (to varied success), I’ve become much better at picking up when the DM is trying to be serious. A good player should be able to recognize this and act accordingly, unfortunately most players just don’t think about it.....too busy sending memes I guess.
I agree Bautista would be the better brick, though I’d happily accept either.....so they’ll probably cast Jonah Hill or some shit.
I’m also doing something like that. Dormant war-forged army for me too. Once this army awakens is when war-forged and artificers will begin appearing on my continent though this will likely be 40-50 years after the end of our current campaign.
R301 has always felt perfect to me as well. Anvil is amazing on a flatline but I so rarely bother with it on an r301.
Ah yeah that’ll do it. My friends and I all made our own characters and none of them were too concerned with a necromancer.
Interesting. My party didn’t fight the necromancer, we spoke with him if I remember correctly.
I believe they just changed this so that you don’t need Xbox live anymore for free games like Apex.
My mom called me to ask if I wanted a cat. Had to drive 5 and a half hours to Albuquerque where my parents lived. My mon brought me to see this little pale thing who was an absolute purr-meister.
Incredibly she was the only one left of her four siblings who had been found on the streets with her. I stayed one night with my parents before bringing her home and we have been glued at the hip ever since.
Now my daughter is spoiled and receives all the attention she could want.
My god. My snowshoe, after years of not wanting to be brushed, now DEMANDS that I brush her regularly. I don’t see how she can produce so much hair because I feel like I take a half pound off every time I brush her. She should be bald by now.
Ha yeah mine was definitely the later. He was kinda full on Judge Dredd. Obey the law(my law that is) or I will murder the shit out of you.
I believe I was on Salt Lake City servers when I connected last
