Sorry liberal, but both are socialist today and historically have achieved more for socialism than any western country, ever.

Political scientist Ian Bremmer describes China as a state capitalist. He also describes Russia and Venezuela as state capitalist countries. Do research please. Google is free. Oh also, North Korea is defined as a command economy, not socialist.

Who cares what Bremmer says, he is an American capitalist who owns a multimillion dollar corporation. I do not for a second care about his opinions on China.

I mean do you have multiple degrees from well known and highly regarded colleges? Do you have years of research on political science? No? Then please be quiet. Him being rich doesn’t mean he’s uneducated.

Him being a wealthy American oligarch means he has a class interest in lying to you. Even Xi Jinping has a PhD as well, does that mean I can just cite whatever he says as an authority without ever actually having to explain anything? Your worship of people with degrees won't get you anywhere in life when you begin to realize people with degrees often say different things, and you will twist yourself into a mental knot trying to figure out how to believe thousands of contradictory opinions at the same time, rather than simply thinking for yourself and realizing that people with degrees should inform your opinion but not determine it.

I could respond to the bits about China, but the rest of your comment was too good - no one out there is calling Russia socialist. Literally no one. Workers in the DPRK control political power and exercise that power through the state. Sure, they’re a command economy, but that doesn’t preclude them from being socialist. Reads like you just took Econ/poly sci 101 tbh…

I recommend you learn about the history of Korea. It’s super interesting and gives insight as to why they are the way they are. Likewise with China.

I mean it seems you can’t debunk me on China being state capitalist so I’m assuming you have no idea what you’re talking about.

“State capitalism” under the leadership of a communist party is socialism. Check out this video by Richard Wolff, well known Marxist economist, for more about China: https://www.democracyatwork.info/eu_china_capitalist_socialist_or_what
