Thanks friend :)

27

u/Puzzleheaded-1985 29d ago

I had to see if it was a hybrid bear or a dirty polar bear. Then I found the article.

13

u/AmdM78 29d ago

It really looks like an hybrid

1

u/MagBastard 29d ago

Or a bear with diabetes.

29

u/Not_Another_Usernam 29d ago

Stones as a unit of measure is an order of magnitude dumber than the entire Imperial system combined.

That said, holy fuck he weighs 1500lbs/680kg. Dude is a big boy.

7

u/RetardedMonkeyBrain 29d ago

I can tell you it is exactly as stupid as the imperial system to SI users.

2

u/Not_Another_Usernam 28d ago

I use both. One I use in normal life and the other I use professionally.

SI is unquestionably better for science. I use metric every day in my field (pharmacy).

Imperial is better for every day life. Imperial uses humans as upper and lower bounds for major scales. An inch is about the thickness of a finger, a foot is the approximate length of a human foot, a yard is about a human stride, 100 degrees Fahrenheit is approximately the body temp of humans...If you didn't have a ruler, you could approximate Imperial measurements. If you didn't have a ruler, what would you use to approximate a centimeter?

u/PigmeyPuff 29d ago

How did i know this fat bear was our fault. Humans mess everything up smh.

188

u/New_Insect_Overlords 29d ago

“What’s that? An entire Inuit village is gone? I have no idea what you’re talking about.”

29

u/zirfeld 29d ago

"How should I know why you don't see any seals here around anymore? They probably moved south or something. I had certainly nothing to do with it."

301

u/firemonkeywoman 29d ago

Well I really need a banana for scale.

87

u/Snoot_Boot 29d ago

Those "pebbles" on the ground are actually small boulders

20

u/Impressive_Muffin439 29d ago

Boulder: A large rounded mass of rock lying on the surface of the ground or embedded in the soil.

Pebble: A small stone, especially one worn smooth by erosion.

giving that every rock has been worn smooth by erosion, a "small boulder" is technically correct.

62

u/DoubleExposure 29d ago

9

u/m00se92 29d ago

Huh...They're actually a lot smaller than I thought

2

u/SkoulErik 29d ago

Nah, mate. Genemodification has just developed to the point we're they make house-sized bananas

37

u/StellarSac 29d ago

For real, camera guy couldn’t just slide one on next to him?

17

u/ChaosInstructor 29d ago

why not? polar bears do not eat bananas...

25

u/NotAcutallyaPanda 29d ago

Polar bears eat camera men.

23

u/ChaosInstructor 29d ago

if they only eat camera men it should be safe to send someone else...

1

u/Only_Variation9317 29d ago

Back

If the camera man ate bananas then his semen will taste tropical and that's a bonus for the polar bear as I understand they don't get a lot of tropical fruit in polarlandia

6

u/Rutski71 29d ago

Wear a banana suit. Problem solved

0

u/i_get_car_sick 29d ago

Underrated comment^

2

u/amateur-kneesocks 29d ago

A camera woman then!

7

u/hallettj 29d ago

Unfortunately there's no way to frame the shot so that the whole bear is in view, and the banana is big enough to be visible.

5

u/cowlinator 29d ago

See all those pale blurry "pebbles" in the foreground? Those are bananas.

3

u/sir_ramen 29d ago

https://i2-prod.mirror.co.uk/incoming/article21770493.ece/ALTERNATES/s615b/0_PAY-h_MDRUM_Fattest_Polar_Bear-1.jpg

A better photo. You can see the waves from the water, which sort of helps see the size... but not really.

2

u/Repulsive_Box_5763 29d ago

See that tiny yellow dot between the rocks on the right side? That's actually a banana tree.

38

u/rynhardtg 29d ago

Crikey what a unit

74

u/shutyomouth101 29d ago

Skips head day

36

u/usernamesarehard1979 29d ago

So does my wife.

12

u/dontfakethefunkpunk 29d ago

Laughed out loud at that one

174

u/iwanstiawan 29d ago

38

u/PhobiaRice 29d ago

Mega chonk

12

u/Poo_faced 29d ago

Legends say a tuba heralds his presence

64

u/animalfacts-bot 29d ago

The polar bear is found in the Arctic Circle. A boar (adult male) weighs around 350–700 kg (772–1,543 lb) while a sow (adult female) is about half that size. Polar bears are the largest land carnivores currently in existence, rivaled only by the Kodiak bear. The skin under their fur is black. Polar bears can reach speeds of up to 40 km/h (25 mph) on land and 10 km/h (6 mph) in water.

13

u/discardedcumrag 29d ago

Well we know who hasn’t had trouble finding seals.

6

u/ghosttrainhobo 29d ago

He’s been filling up on starving polar bears

2

u/Repulsive_Box_5763 29d ago

Cannibalism really does solve every problem, am I right?!...

Guys?

3

u/Not_Another_Usernam 29d ago

Well, except the problem of prions.

10

u/Chesticlesmcgee 29d ago

Need to get off that human diet, too many carbs!

2

u/PigmeyPuff 29d ago

Actually it’s too much fat. The locals keep throwing him whale blubber.

11

u/Greg_Norsworthy 29d ago

That's the polar bear that figured out you could eat other polar bears.

37

u/ACanadianStrobe 29d ago

That’s a big boi! What a big boi!

20

u/Poo_faced 29d ago

He likes them big ...

16

u/smellzlkebtmn4ever 29d ago

He likes them chunky...

6

u/ACanadianStrobe 29d ago

I’d hug this fuzz ball if I wouldn’t immediately get eaten afterwards.

4

u/sidelined1957 29d ago

What do you mean afterward? Does he look like there would be a hug first?

4

u/ACanadianStrobe 29d ago

You’re right... I’d hug him while he eats me from the legs up.

7

u/pleasurescheme 29d ago

aw I wish they were up for cuddles

4

u/MrNygma- 29d ago

U can actually cuddle them, but just once in a life

21

u/Qzman 29d ago

This chonker alone is driving other polar bears to extinction by eating all the food.

3

u/GaryinGary 29d ago

And the other polar bears.

1

u/Repulsive_Box_5763 29d ago

Psht, what? That was totally an apple...

4

u/Kinsdale85 29d ago

You don’t even need a banana, that thing is massive

5

u/dying_soon666 29d ago

That’s what she said!

1

u/TheLazyHippy 29d ago

That's what she said

6

1

u/afelts87 29d ago

Glad someone else thought so too!

4

u/ChrisFox-NJ 29d ago

fat bear

4

u/clamchauder 29d ago

So cute, yet so deadly

4

u/TurbulentBird1 29d ago

Why isn't he on snow? This is a sad picture, he should be pure white in a tundra

3

u/Affectionate_Fuel_11 29d ago

Chunky 🐻🙌🏻🙏🏼

3

u/hereSlip986 29d ago

Maybe it is a very small Bear. Need banana for scale.

3

u/justmelvinthings 29d ago

I’m in awe of the size of this lad

3

u/PacoBaratheon 29d ago

Aww hes a big boi who likes salmon and seals

3

u/Swolenballs 29d ago

His eyes so small

3

u/Hobbit_Feet45 29d ago

He needs it for when he goes down for the long slumber.

3

u/Otherwise-scifi 29d ago

That's upto 1000kgs of murderous floof.

5

u/BaronVonNumbaKruncha 29d ago

You can pack so many baby seals in this bad boy slaps side

2

u/Pinball_Lizard 29d ago

"No, I didn't steal everyone else's food! It's totally global warming's fault!"

2

u/apex8888 29d ago

Prehistoric mammal vibes.

2

u/_bynlls 29d ago

My face

2

u/ISpamUpvotes 29d ago

The pebbles on the ground are full grown seals

2

u/TheRealBooooper 29d ago

Fun fact polar bear fur isn't just normal hair like dogs or humans. Its fur is actually hollow to help with the cold!

2

u/shymermaid11 29d ago

Well that's why the others are all so skinny. This guy ate all the fish.

Such a cute fluff...

2

u/Tasty-Friendship9034 29d ago

I thought polar bear were white??? He's mighty dirty

1

u/Fubar_louise 29d ago

No more snow for the big floofers to romp around in :(

2

u/deino1703 29d ago

2

u/Accurate_Figure_2474 29d ago

That bear doesn’t look healthy.

u/tvaddict1973 29d ago

Yeah, this picture makes me sad 😥

2

u/Things_I_Dig 29d ago

Swoler bear.

2

u/kekuthewolf 27d ago

On their higned legs they are usuly 10 feet tall, one thousand five hundred pounds, and can run up to 100 m in three seconds. They don't fear humans, at all. One swipe of the paw to your head and you can say bye bye to this plane of existence.

0

u/Curious-Kaleidoscope 29d ago edited 29d ago

Could it be a grizzly x polar cross? Edit: why are people downvoting me for asking a question?!

2

u/xX_ThiccKrabz69_Xx 29d ago

While it is possible, this one is not. It's just covered in sand.

2

u/UserNameTakenLUL 29d ago

Polar bear fur is hollow, so it basically looks like whatever it’s around, which is why it’s such a bright white and will turn to this dirty colour when it’s not in snow

3

u/SaxiTaxi 29d ago

Yeah, they already have. They are called Pizzly bears or Grolar bears. (Because biologists are the least creative people.) These hybrids are actually only one of the few hybrid crosses that occur naturally in the wild.

3

u/dying_soon666 29d ago

Pizzly and grolar are both craft beers where I’m from.

2

u/SaxiTaxi 29d ago

Are they any good?

1

u/dying_soon666 29d ago

Can’t recall, I moved away years ago.

1

u/okaysophh 29d ago

he really said . .

1

u/Competitive_Ad_2978 29d ago

Makes me curious when the photo was taken

1

u/Meringue_Initial 29d ago

Well someone is having more than 1 out of 20 successful hunts

1

u/jess-because 29d ago

Scary...

1

u/JustKimNotKimberly 29d ago

Banana for scale?

1

u/logicreasonevidence 29d ago

Look at those paws!

1

u/tanzenpflanzen 29d ago

This is why polar bears are endangered, this guy keeps stealing everyone’s food

1

u/roguerose2 29d ago

Holy cow huge

1

u/CormanSifuentes 29d ago

Max stats

1

u/pichael288 29d ago

Is that a polar bear, or a grolar bear? Grolars are alot bigger

1

u/Spirit50Lake 29d ago

Is that a polar bear or a 'pizzly' (polar/grizzly cross) bear?

“THE POLAR BEARS ARE BROWN!! WHY ARE THE POLAR BRARS BROWN??!! What did you do??!!” -Louis C.K.

1

u/RedditorOoze 29d ago

This is what the liberal media won't show you! Fat bears are breaking the glaciers. Climate hoax was made up to sell solar panels and microwave dinners! SAD!

1

u/FloatyMcBoatface 29d ago

This picture was taken from a submarine 10 miles offshore, through the periscope, as they were diving and going to flank speed, praying to get deep and fast enough to escape this bear.

1

u/converter-bot 29d ago

10 miles is 16.09 km

1

u/MsFloofNoofle 29d ago

Absolute unit

1

u/thejazzace 29d ago

Remember that picture a few years back of the skinny sick polar bear? This is her now. Feel old yet?

1

u/I_am_not_Elon_Musk 29d ago

Read about the HMS Terror.

1

u/kaydbee 29d ago

is that not a grolar bear (aka a pizzly)?

1

u/I_Dunno_Honestly 29d ago

He Thick- 👀

1

u/Adam-Dye 29d ago

This has to be a photoshop because the NG magazine told us that all the polar bears are dying because they have no food.

1

u/TorinoAK 29d ago

Plot twist. Normal to small sized bear with some sort of tiny head disorder.

1

u/bs50ae 29d ago

Looks like I feel when I leave the Buffet

1

u/SeverusSnek2020 29d ago

Seems this one found food for the winter.

1

u/sonattin 29d ago

STORM UNLEASHED

1

u/WhoaWhoa69420 29d ago

Those "pebbles" are entire countries

1

u/cranialvoid 29d ago

Since it’s a polar bear, we need a coke bottle for scale.

1

u/zhdx54 29d ago

r/absoluteunits

Edit: someone already stole it and put it on that sub oh well

1

u/FrezoreR 29d ago

They are the largest bear after all but I'm not sure even this picture fully shows how large they are, since there's nothing to compare with

1

u/zforce42 29d ago

And they say the polar bears are starving /s

1

u/BilboSwagging 29d ago

First thought is it looks like a water bear.

1

u/EmperorThan 29d ago

That polar bear's so fat I'm expecting it to start sending me antivaccine conspiracies.

1

u/oX_deLa 29d ago

Banana for scale?

1

u/kaytherine 29d ago

why is the coat brown

1

u/mikejungle 29d ago

Someone's been skipping head day.

1

u/supreme_lord6000 29d ago

That bear would be great carpet material

1

u/destinyspie 29d ago

I wonder how much slimmer this bear looks after bathing

1

u/IhaveaBibledegree 29d ago

We’ve gotta stop sending them all those cokes.

1

u/War-Whorese 29d ago

Get him a fedora!

1

u/d9bates 29d ago

Now I know why all the other polar bears be going extinct.

1

u/830959256Cj 29d ago

What? I thought they were starving! 😂

1

u/Ne0nY2K 29d ago

Tuunbaq ..is that you?!?

1

u/Llamahama1 29d ago

Bahahaha I just read the article about him and he’s called fat Albert

1

u/Kenigma_79 29d ago

Republicans seeing this: “har har har Well, so much for global warming. Am I right?”

1

u/Adela_Arson 29d ago

Living in Scotland, "I read this as the sheer size of this polar bear, a cold idiot."

The brainwashing is almost complete.

1

u/Fast-Banana-84 29d ago

Get in my tummy!

1

u/Menutz 29d ago

I love the descriptor “unit.”

1

u/SensationallylovelyK 29d ago

I love him! 😍

1

u/DAS_LIZARDMAN 29d ago

I'm intimidated but I REALLY want to give it a hug. Lil' baby

1

u/artmobboss 29d ago

“Winter is coming”

1

u/_cinnamon_buns 29d ago

Sheesh, share some polar bear with the rest of the polar bears, man!

1

u/CataclysmG 29d ago

...volibear?

1

u/Kallirianne 29d ago

Looking into its eyes creeps me out. Its eyes are completely soulless. I’d expect nothing less from the horribly magnificent monster that it is. Lol

1

u/cyberton 29d ago

Chonk.

1

u/aphillyk75 29d ago

That bear can kill with a single look

1

u/thinkroymaldo 29d ago

I was on the Jenny Craig weight program so I ate her.

1

u/CaliFinsFan 29d ago

Is this a polar bear grizzly hybrid?

1

u/murdermuffin626 29d ago

This big boi belongs over in r/AbsoluteUnits

1

u/fradrig 29d ago

Can't really determine the scale. Go stand next to it.

1

u/wasps-are-assholes 29d ago

What a chonker!

1

u/245277 29d ago

Is she the fattest bear in the world?

1

u/Infelis 29d ago

In awe at the size of this lad. Absolute unit.

1

u/Hoeloye 29d ago

human for scale?

1

u/atlantasmokeshop 29d ago

Fun fact, polar bears actually hunt humans.
