Info and more sources coming soon!

The Golden Order has been broken.

Rise, Tarnished, and be guided by grace to brandish the power of the Elden Ring and become an Elden Lord in the Lands Between.

In the Lands Between ruled by Queen Marika the Eternal, the Elden Ring, the source of the Erdtree, has been shattered.

Marika's offspring, demigods all, claimed the shards of the Elden Ring known as the Great Runes, and the mad taint of their newfound strength triggered a war: The Shattering. A war that meant abandonment by the Greater Will.

And now the guidance of grace will be brought to the Tarnished who were spurned by the grace of gold and exiled from the Lands Between. Ye dead who yet live, your grace long lost, follow the path to the Lands Between beyond the foggy sea to stand before the Elden Ring.

And become the Elden Lord.

I was silent for most of it, and somewhere around the end I just started cry laughing. It's even better than I thought it would be.

I started just planning out how I wanted to play the game. By gods the movement in combat, the flips, the jumping. GAH

This look like Dark Souls meets Bloodborne meets Sekiro. I bet the dev team was heavily inspired by these games.

They've probably never heard of them.

To be fair, they're underrated indie gems that are wrongfully slandered by bad gaming journalists. (/s just in case)

u/Scorponix Jun 11 '21

I doubt they could even imagine them

THE FLIPS! HOLY SHIT, THAT WAS INSANE!

I'm totally making a Sekiro Build, if possible

u/KailReed Jun 10 '21

also the mount being used in what looks like field bosses. Bro.

If I kill that boss with the hands all over the horse, and I don't get a centihand horse that can climb walls, I will be very upset

Also was that a sekiro parry at 1:22, and the mount's agility looks sick, time for some skyrim mountain climbing.

I wouldn't call it a Sekiro parry just yet tbh. Those look like regular DS blocks to me. I really hope we get something similar to Sekiro parry system, but it might be a bit early to call that one. Can't wait for more gameplay footage.

I guarantee that mount dies at the worst possible moment. Shadow of the Collosus did it, Red Dead Redemption did it, any gotdangit game with a horse you grow to love does it

PLEASE GIVE ME A GAME WHERE MY HORSE DOESN'T DIE

Considering it looks like you summon it from a magic portal and it fades into nothingness when you dismount I think the chances that it can "die" are relatively low lol

3

u/canadarepubliclives Jun 12 '21

The chances being low immediately makes me think the chances are very high.

Literally shitting crying and shaking and cumming rn

5

u/Tingle_Tiger Jun 10 '21

Before the trailer started playing I was just yelling “GEOFF!!” at my monitor over and over excitedly.

u/KailReed Jun 10 '21

The mad lad did it

Spells look gorgeous. Can't wait to do a spellsword build.

3

u/KailReed Jun 10 '21

Yes ive been reading the divine dungeon and completionist chronicles and all it makes me want to do is have spellcasting builds

3

u/First_Antelope76 Jun 10 '21

Yes. I am already planning to do a spellsword and full sorcerer build.

There is also that Armored werewolf. Would be sick if it was a ingame transformation for our character just like the dragon form in dark souls.

3

u/KailReed Jun 10 '21

Wait. Werewolf? I must have been crying during that part of the trailer.

3

u/First_Antelope76 Jun 10 '21

1:42. They went all out on their guts reference lol. Armored werewolf with a big sword

2

u/KailReed Jun 10 '21

Oh man. I REALLY hope they give you that option. Like the dragon torso

2

u/First_Antelope76 Jun 10 '21

I hope so. I isn't as big as most boss we saw in the trailer so it's a possibility.

We could transform into a werewolf and gain new moves.

I am already planning to do every single build that exist just like I did in DS 1-3. If I’m a madman about this game like I was with DS3 I’ll “beat” it dozens and dozens of times.

1

u/First_Antelope76 Jun 11 '21

Same. I played DS3 for almost 3 years. Pretty sure I'll do the same with elden ring.

2

u/Bear_In_Winter Jun 10 '21

Thankfully there shouldn't be anywhere near as many puns as Dakota likes to include :P

1

u/KailReed Jun 10 '21

The puns are my favorite part. In the audiobook I always look at an imaginary camera and wink

2

u/Katholikos Jun 10 '21

I’m just glad we can do builds. After Sekiro I wasn’t sure that was guaranteed, but this looks much more like a soulsgame

1

u/First_Antelope76 Jun 10 '21

Yes. Sekiro was a good experience , but i am glad we will have more customization options in elden rings. It allows everyone to use the playstyle they prefer.

2

u/WhatTheFhtagn Jun 11 '21

It looks like Sekiro meets Shadow of the Colossus and I am HERE for it. God damn.
